Imran Tahir, a top leg-spinner of South Africa got who recently dominated the bowling rankings in the limited form of the game got a big surprise from the Chennai Super Kings with his 4-year-old son, Gibran. Imran Tahir is presently playing IPL for Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
In the 10th edition of IPL, he was playing under the same skipper when he played for Pune Supergiants. He was brought up by Chennai Super Kings for a sum of 1 crore (base price). Imran Tahir has 48 IPL scalps in 34 matches with 24.46 and an economy of 8.21.
He made his IPL debut in 2014 when he featured for Delhi Daredevils. At 38 years and 298 days, he was the oldest cricketer in the IPL auction this year. It was the 4th birthday of Gibran when CSK gave him a big surprise as they celebrated his birthday as a team with a great fervour.
It is worthy to mention that Chennai Super Kings made a splendid entry in the ongoing edition after being absent from IPL in 2016 and 2017 respectively due to betting charges alleged on its owner. Chennai Super Kings clinched thriller victories in the first two games beating Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Talking about fair play award, this award was established in 2008 to encourage fair play and to add more and more focus on sportsmanship. Chennai Super Kings won this award six times most by any whereas Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan all won this award once in IPL history with the Gujarat Lions the lastest one who won it in 2017.
