In our daily day to day life, we do anything mostly with any particular reference point and that reference point can be termed as the idol. An idol is simply a symbol, a greatly admired or loved personality.

An idol can be anyone but mostly one tries to match a symbol in his own field. In this article, we will present to you some cricketers and their idols.

Babar Azam:

The Pakistani middle-order batsman who is among the top 10 batsmen and equalled the record of quickest one to achieve 1000 runs ODI mark loves Indian Skipper, Virat Kohli to watch. In his recent interview, Babar said that he wants to become like Virat Kohli.

Michael Clarke:

He is one of the most successful captains and a world cup winning captain of the Australian team. He is known for his solid batting and his captaincy skills. Besides this, he was a great fielder as well. Clarke admitted that he is a great fan of Brian Lara and he usually watches the old matches featuring his idol.

Sachin Tendulkar :

The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is a brand name in the field of cricket. Popularly known as the ‘god of cricket ‘, Sachin is the idol for almost every Indian cricket loves. Sir Viv Richards is the one whom Sachin call as his idol. Besides this, Sandip Patil and Sunil Gavaskar were favourites as well.

Virat Kohli:

He may be the idol for many right now but he himself is a devote of Sachin Tendulkar. Virat was a child growing up when he saw Sachin while batting and always wanted to bat like him. Till yet, he remained quite successful to maintain his legacy.

Yasir Shah:

No doubt, Yasir Shah is best to test leg-spinner at present. He is a smiling assassin for Pakistan known for his golden arm. Although he didn’t remain enough successful in ODI cricket Yasir forced even his idol to feel proud of him. Yasir Shah is a great devotee of Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne and recently Warne tweeted a series of tweets to praise his devotee.

Stuart Broad:

The pacy Star from England, Stuart Broad draws his source of inspiration from Australian fast bowling legend Glenn McGrath who was known for his line and length abilities.

Sarfaraz Ahmad:

Right now the cricketing world talks about this man. He played his first ICC tournament as an inexperienced captain and surprised the world with his gifted skills. It is not surprising for many as he calls MS Dhoni as his idol who made a similar kind of entry as a skipper.

MS Dhoni:

He is the idol for every Wicket Keeper or we can say for almost every captain. One of the successful Indian Captains, MS Dhoni calls Adam Gilchrist as his reference point. Adam Gilchrist was a former Australian Wicketkeeper batsman known for his aggressive approach. Besides this, Sachin Tendulkar also joins the list of MS Dhoni’s favourites.

Shahid Afridi:

He is known as the crowd puller. One of the cricket with a huge fan base, Shahid Afridi is known for his all-around abilities. He was an aggressive batsman. Besides this, he is a philanthropist if we will talk off the field. Shahid Afridi calls Pakistani former opener Saeed Anwar as his idol.

Mustafizur Rahman:

He is one of the great young fast bowlers in a modern era. He has already proved his mettle in the game of modern era which is batsman dominated. Talking about his idol, the Bangladeshi pace bowler Rehman said that he loves to watch Mohammad Aamer in action.
