Cricketers and their past professions

If you have to answer some questions about your favourite cricketer, how many correct answers you can give? Do you really know whereabouts of your favourite cricketer? You may answer his highest score, average, Wickets etc but can you answer about his hobbies/ interests? About his personal life like houses, cars, etc.

Having knowledge about past professions of the cricketers is one of the important things to know and the most probability is, it will inspire you for a longer run. Let me cut it short here as in this article we will talk about some cricketers and will share their professions before joining the cricket.

The most lethal and deadliest bowler from New Zealand, Shane Bond before playing the cricket worked as a policeman and thus it was his past profession before joining the national team of New Zealand. In one of his interview, he later admitted that some of the techniques which he learned at Police Department benefitted him in the cricket too.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Most of the Bollywood fans would have been aware of the past profession of the most successful skipper of team India as a biopic was released recently made on him. In the movie, one can see MS Dhoni working as a ticket collector. Yes, MS Dhoni was a ticket collector in the Indian Railway posted at the station of Kharagpur before the playing the cricket from the Railways.

Joe Dawes

He was a member of Australian domestic team and later turned to be a coach for team India. He was working as an undercover officer in Queensland police before joining the cricket.

Junaid Khan

The Pakistani fast bowler Junaid Khan used to be a mat seller before joining the national team. In his interview with a private news channel, Junaid admitted that he was selling mats along with practising cricket.

AB de Villiers can be called as ‘Mr perfect’ of cricket because of being expert in every department whether batting, Wicketkeeping, fielding etc, this man knows everything. Surprisingly, this man is genius in other sports as well which he played like Rugby, Badminton, Cricket and Hockey.

Not yet, he was a brilliant student in academics as well as he has won many medals like Nelson Mandela award in science subject as well. It is hard to believe that he was selected in Hockey junior and Soccer before joining Cricket.
